The CorkSport Carbon Fiber Cold Air Box limits the ingress of hot under hood air into the induction system of your MPS 3.
Based on extensive thermocouple datalogging and induction air
temperature testing at various ambient air conditions, the cold air box
draws air from the inner fender (where long tube cold air intake
filters normally reside). With the cold air box design, your vehicle
gets the benefits of a short ram intake and cold air induction without
the pressure drops inherent to longer tube intakes. As verified through
our testing, you will see outside air temperatures at the filter. On a 20 degree day the air at the filter was on average 1-2 degrees lower
than the underhood temperatures. All points of air coming into the box
were measured during our testing and the CorkSport design allows cold
air in from all of the unsealed areas while blocking hot air with the
sealed off surfaces.
The box is made of high temperature resistant fiber reinforced plastic
that has a full gelcoat on the outside with automotive finish on the
inside. It is ready for paint or further detail to compliment your
engine compartment and styling of your vehicle. The features a sealed
Carbon Fiber lid with 4 socket
head cap screws attaching the lid to the box. Quick, easy installation
