In a few designs we use a molded High Density Polyethylene tube which allows our engineers to route incoming air in more creative ways. We route our plumbing so that the filter draws air from a safe and cool location. Many designs include a steel powder coated heat shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt.
